Dr. Sarah J. Cutler, VMD, Owner
Sarah Cutler graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and completed an internship in general small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan in 1998. She worked at Park East Animal Hospital for six years before moving out of the city and working at Somers Animal Hospital for six years. She founded her own house call practice called At Home Vet Care based in Katonah, NY in 2010 in order to provide high-quality care in the comfort of pets’ homes. She also works as a veterinary consultant at For the Love of Dogs, a canine rescue group in her area.
Her passion for helping our pets receive humane treatment as well as her strong interest in behavioral problems are the focus of her professional work. Dr. Cutler has veterinary licenses in New York and Connecticut, is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, and New York State Veterinary Medical Society. Dr. Cutler is available for house call behavior appointments and general medical house calls in northern Westchester County.
Candida Higgins, CPDT-KA
Behavior Coordinator
Candy Higgins started working as the Behavior Coordinator for Dr. Cutler’s Behavior Clinic for Cats and Dogs in July of 2021. She is a nationally certified professional dog trainer (CPDT-KA) and has been involved with local canine rescue organizations since 2015. She founded her private training business Candy’s Canine Coaching in Bedford, NY. Through handling hundreds of dogs in rescue, she developed a fascination with behavior, and is deeply committed to ongoing education in order to support pets and their people. Candy is Fear Free™ Certified, a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and a member of the International Pet Professional Guild.
Prior to working formally in the field of canine behavior, Candy’s career was in marketing and media in Manhattan and in her native Toronto, Canada. Candy and her husband have three rescue dogs (l-r Otis, Frank and Callie), Jack The Cat and a horse named Sancho, and she volunteers with a local special-needs animal rescue.
Paige Lombardi
Assistant
Paige is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan and is in the process of applying to veterinary school. She has worked for Dr. Cutler for 7 years as a veterinary assistant, gaining experience and growing her passion for her future career as a veterinarian. Trudy is Paige’s 12 year old mini dachshund who is her family’s beloved family pet, and also a learning experience for Paige given her nickname “The Landshark.”
Tricia Keller
Administrative Assistant
Tricia has enjoyed working in small animal veterinary medicine for 16 years as well as operating her own petsitting company for the past 10 years. She is excited to embark on a new journey as an Administrative Assistant with Dr. Cutler and her team! Tricia shares her free time with her husband and son as well as Wasabi, Tito Bandito and blind kitty cat, Mira. Tricia loves family, nature, Zumba, baking and time with friends!
Heather Jacksyn,
Assistant
Heather has helped Dr. Cutler with At Home Vet Care for the past 9 years, since 2011. Heather and her husband enjoy 5 dogs and 2 cats. She is pictured with Dr. Cutler’s dog Cole but we are hoping to have a photo of her new German Shepherd puppy Hank soon.
Christina
Assistant
Christina has worked alongside Dr. Cutler, with At Home Vet Care, for the past 7 years. She has two cats, the second of which is a kitten named Cannoli, that has an endocrine disorder rarely seen in cats (hypothyroidism). Having completed her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences, Christina is currently studying to be a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
